Becca Vermace, P.E. | Barr Engineering
Becca Vermace is an environmental engineer at Barr Engineering with five years of experience. Prior to joining Barr, Becca earned her BS in bioproducts and biosystems engineering from the University of Minnesota and earned her MS in environmental engineering from the University of Iowa. At Barr, Becca helps municipal and industrial clients achieve their water quality goals, particularly in nutrient removal and PFAS treatment, by taking projects from alternatives analysis to implementation. For landfills, Becca has evaluated alternatives to modify existing leachate treatment systems for PFAS removal through bench and pilot testing, evaluated alternatives including costs for a closed landfill to treat groundwater contaminated with leachate for 1,4-dioxane and PFAS, and developed treatment trains including necessary pretreatment to destroy PFAS in landfill leachate.
